From the moment she stepped into a dance studio at the age of 2, Katie Malcolm’s passion for dance ignited—and it’s been unstoppable ever since! Trained extensively in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, and musical theatre, Katie’s journey took her from being a competitive dancer to pursuing her post-secondary dance education. She is a proud graduate of the Commercial Dance Studies and Performance Dance Studies Programs at George Brown College, a registered teacher with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, and holds her Dance Masters of America Teaching Diploma. With an associate degree in Business Marketing and Event Planning, Katie combined her love of dance and her business acumen to create two thriving brands that continue to leave a lasting impact on the dance community.

As the Owner/Director of Elite Dance Challenge, now celebrating 13 incredible seasons, Katie has cultivated an electrifying and inspiring competition experience that brings together passionate dancers, talented faculty, and an atmosphere that’s contagious with energy. Elite Dance Challenge is more than just a competition—it’s a celebration of artistry, determination, and growth where every dancer feels empowered to shine.

Katie is also the driving force behind JumpStart Dance Intensive, now entering its 9th exciting year. JumpStart offers dancers a high-energy, immersive experience led by a faculty of world-class instructors who challenge and inspire dancers to push their limits. Known for its motivating and encouraging environment, JumpStart provides a unique opportunity for dancers to develop their skills while igniting their love for dance.

With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Katie is an award-winning choreographer who has been shaping young dancers, teaching both recreational and competitive classes to students ages 2 through adult. She is also a proud member of the Professional Adjudicator’s Alliance, traveling across Canada to share her expertise and inspire the next generation of dancers. Her commitment to excellence extends beyond the studio as she guides dancers through exams and continues her own professional development by attending workshops, seminars, and classes to stay at the forefront of dance education.

As a mom of two, Katie balances her thriving career with her love for family, bringing a nurturing and relatable energy to everything she does. Her mission is clear: to inspire dancers, build confidence, and create an environment where passion meets excellence—on and off the dance floor.
